From Business Jet Operator to European Heavyweight

Jetalliance was founded in 1996, headquartered in Oberwaltersdorf in Lower Austria with its base at Vienna International Airport. The company operated a large fleet of business jets from multiple manufacturers, ranging from Cessna Citation and Learjet types through Dassault Falcon to Gulfstream and Embraer Legacy aircraft, certified for flights across Europe and, with its own FAA approval, into the United States and Canada. In January 2006 it ordered 28 further Cessna Citation jets, alongside orders for Airbus Corporate Jet models.

Insolvency and Wind Down

In November 2012, Jetalliance filed for insolvency with claims of around €28.9 million. In October 2013, the decision was made to close and liquidate the company.
