Robin Hood Aviation: History

Robin Hood Aviation was a small regional airline based in Graz, flying Saab 340 turboprops to Switzerland, before financial trouble forced it into final insolvency in 2011 after a year and a half of difficulties.

From Graz to Switzerland

Founded in 2005 and based at Graz Airport, Robin Hood Aviation GmbH, whose backers included Efkon founders Helmut Rieder and Raimund Pammer, received its air operator’s certificate on 11 April 2007 and began flying Saab 340 turboprops on the Graz to Zurich route from May 2007. A Graz to Stuttgart route followed in October 2008, and a seasonal Klagenfurt to Zurich service ran in summer 2009; a Linz to Zurich route was dropped again after a few months.

Insolvency in 2011

The company first entered receivership in March 2010 but kept flying. On 23 August 2011 it filed for final insolvency, and ceased operations the very next day, 24 August 2011.
