Charter Flying in German Colors

LTU Austria received its air operator’s certificate on 1 April 2004 and began operating with its headquarters and base at Vienna Schwechat Airport. The company belonged to the travel group built around the retailer Billa and its tour operator ITS Billa, and carried the livery of Germany’s LTU. It flew exclusively Airbus A320 aircraft, on charter routes to Mediterranean and Red Sea holiday destinations.

The End in 2008

LTU Austria ceased operations in 2008, with its remaining aircraft passing to other carriers within the group’s orbit.
